War Through The Generations Challenge

Here is a challenge that Serena from Savvy Verse & Wit and Anna from Diary of an Eccentric are co-hosting for 2009. All you need to do is make a commitment to read at least five books that are themed around World War II between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009. I have always loved books from this genre so I don't think that will be a problem for me. I have a few on my shelves at home to start off with that will also work with a couple of other challenges that I am doing for next year.

I am going to sign up to read 5 World War II books and here are the titles that I am going to start with:

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne--completed 2/10/2009
Tallgrass by Sandra Dallas--completed 2/28/2009
Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay--completed 5/17/2009
Guernica by Dave Boling--completed 11/25/2009
A Lucky Child by Thomas Buergenthal--Completed 12/13/2009

If you are interested in signing up or to find out more information about this challenge click here.
I hope you join in!

Jo-Jo: Thanks for signing up for the challenge. We're happy to have you and I've got you on the official participants list.

I haven't picked my books yet...well I have picked two. LOL

Thanks Serena...I figure since I will be reading these after Christmas I will be fine. I read a couple of holocaust themed books a couple years ago right before Christmas and really didn't do much for my holiday spirit. I've been wanting to read The Book Thief for awhile so I hope to add that one to the list also!

Jo-Jo, glad you joined in. This one is going to be great. I'm looking forward to all the reviews of war novels we'll be seeing.
