Since I missed last week's Mailbox Monday I get to share the books that came into my house for the last couple of weeks:
The Passage by Justin Cronin
The Local News by Miriam Gershow
The Swan Thieves by Elizabeth Kostova (audiobook)
And then I received the following books from the bargain bookstore:
Who By Fire by Diana Spechler
We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver
Ellen Foster by Kaye Gibbons
And then from Barnes and Noble I purchased:
The Lace Reader by Brunonia Barry
Well that is quite a haul for me and considering The Passage is a pretty big book. I think I will have to probably start turning down review requests for the next couple of months! So what was in your mailbox?

The Barry book, that one I do wnna read
Oh my gosh, I've heard both The Passage and We Need to Talk About Kevin are amazing! I really enjoyed The Swan Thieves. Happy reading!
They all look good. I read Ellen Foster a long time ago and liked it. Have a great week!
I (sadly) missed a public library's book sale -- next town north -- over the weekend. I just forgot about it and I sure was kicking myself after I realized it. Love going to used book sales! And library ones are great. My oldest daughter and I never fail to go to our library's big sale every June. My husband keeps wanting us to throw some books out, and we just look at him as though he were deranged...
My book right now is a love story set in the Great Depression, "Dear Bob, Dear Betty" by Elizabeth Catherine Wright, the granddaughter of Frank Lloyd Wright. It's a sequence of actual letters saved by her parents and discovered by her. She has more than just the actual letters, of course. She sets the stage and refers to what's going on at the time, etc. Very well done, and so interesting, given who Frank Lloyd Wright is. Very enjoyable.
Happy Monday!
I enjoyed Who By Fire and We Need to Talk About Kevin. Enjoy your new books!
