What I finished listening to:
I finished listening to We Are Not Ourselves by Matthew Thomas. This was a beautiful saga narrated by Mare Winningham, who did a wonderful job.
What I'm reading now:
Our current book club selection is Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand. I have only just started but I have a feeling this one is going to be a book club favorite. What's next?
Sometimes it's tough to pick my next book but I think I'm going with The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson. A co-worker borrowed me all three of these audiobooks over a year ago and I've listened to the first two, without much enthusiasm. I guess I'm the odd duck, not enjoying them as much as the rest of the world. I'm going to finally listen to this final segment so I can at least say I've listened to the entire series.
So what is keeping you busy these days?

You're not alone, I stopped reading the first Dragon Tattoo half way through. Come see what I've been up to.

I surprised myself by how much I enjoyed the Girl/Tattoo books. I don't read a lot of crime & when I do, it's usually gentle crime.
So they were very far from my usual tastes, but something clicked.
I got through all the awful violence and underbelly of life stuff at a cracking pace simply because I developed a fondness for Lisbeth. I needed her to be okay by the end.
Good luck :-)
I've heard nothing but good things about We Are Not Ourselves. I need to set aside some time to read it.
Very curious about We Are Not Ourselves and Unbroken is on my wishlist, I've heard good things about it.
Have a great week and happy reading :)
Before I joined it, my book club read Unbroken and loved it! I still have to get to it, but I may listen to it. I have a friend who just finished the audiobook and said it was fantastic.
You have some good reads here. Our book club read Dragon Tattoo years ago and I thought the review was going to kill us lol... so many mixed thoughts. I never continued the series.
I actually saw the Steig Larsson book to movie adaptations before I read the first book and that really helped, kind of helped me know what to skim over if nothing else. The problem with audio is that you can't do that either.
Hi thannks for posting this
