Here is a new word that I learned this week while reading Twilight by Stephanie Meyer:
Misogynistic:(mĭ-sŏj'ə-nĭs'tĭk) Of or characterized by a hatred of women.
Here is how misogynistic was used on page 143:
"Whether Shakespeare's treatment of the female characters is misogynistic."

To answer Kathy's question, there's misanthropy for hatred of people, and it turns out that misandry means hatred of men or boys (although I had to look that one up on Wikipedia, as I've never heard it before!).
