Teaser Tuesday-August 24

Check out Teaser Tuesdays from Should Be Reading.  TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:

Grab your current read.

Let the book fall open to a random page.

Share with us two “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page.

You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!

This week my teaser comes from The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood:
Nothing changes instantaneously:  in a gradually heating bathtub you'd be boiled to death before you knew it.  There were stories in the newspapers of course, corpses in ditches or the woods, bludgeoned to death or mutilated, interfered with, as they used to say, but they were about other women and the men who did such things were other men.

I loved this one when I read it years ago. But it's the only one of Atwood's books I've ever been able to finish. Great teaser!

Here’s my teaser from Remarkable Creatures.

Good teaser. I read this one back in high school and it's stuck with me. not sure if I would feel the same if I read it now, though.

The take over started slowly so no one noticed it. That's why we must be involved with life and the government.

Awesome teaser! And I am enjoying this book also.
