Teaser Tuesday-Aug. 4

Check out Teaser Tuesdays from Should Be Reading. TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:

Grab your current read.

Let the book fall open to a random page.

Share with us two “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.

You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!

This week my teaser is from Blue Shoes and Happiness by Alexander McCall Smith:
And that made me think for the first time: Is my brother the father of my son? I looked at the two of them when they were sitting together and I thought that too.

I had to stop and think about who would be making this statement - I really hope it's the boy's father and not his mother. Good teaser!

My historical teaser is here.

I see conflict ahead in this story. Good teaser. I like this author but haven't read this book. I'm curious what you think of it.

Drama, drama, drama - looks good to me! I've got a couple of good teasers this week. Here's a link.

I'm with others...I read that three times trying to guess at the narrator. And then, the second sentence sort of throws me "... they were sitting together and I thought that too." What was his/her other thought? :)

This wins the prize for 'definition of a good tease.' If you can't figure out the narrator, but are still intrigued and fascinated and maybe want to pick it up right now!, then it's wonderful. Great choice!

Check out mine here.

Great teaser--this is one author I have never read. I'm afraid to get started now as there have been so many books written by him.

I've read this book, and now I am racking my brain to try and think of the context of where this was said!

Good teaser.
